Arrival to Kaunas
Kaunas is the second-largest city in Lithuania, located in the centre of the country. The city can be conveniently reached by plane, train, bus, or car.
Vilnius International Airport is the largest airport in Lithuania and is located approximately 100 km from Kaunas. Step 1. Travel from Vilnius Airport to Vilnius city centre. You can reach Vilnius Railway Station or Vilnius Bus Station in several ways: By train:
A direct train connects Vilnius Airport with Vilnius Railway Station. The airport train stop is within walking distance of the terminal and can be reached by following the airport signs. Take city bus No. 1 or No. 2 and get off at the Stotis stop, located next to both the railway and bus stations. Bus schedules are available here: https://www.stops.lt/vilnius/
Step 2. Continue to Kaunas: By train:
Travelling by train is one of the fastest and most convenient ways to reach Kaunas. Trains run frequently throughout the day, the journey takes about 1 hour, and tickets cost approximately €10. Buses between Vilnius and Kaunas depart approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes around 1.5 hours, and tickets cost approximately €10. Tickets can be purchased at the bus station, online https://www.autobusubilietai.lt/en, or from the driver. Students with a valid ISIC card can get a discount on tickets. By taxi / private transfer:

Kaunas International Airport is located approximately 15 km from Kaunas city centre and is served by airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air, as well as charter flights. The easiest way to reach Kaunas city centre is: By bus:
Buses No. 29 and 29G connects Kaunas Airport with the city. The timetable is adjusted to flight arrival times. The ticket costs approximately €1 when purchased via the Žiogas app. Tickets can also be purchased from the driver. How to Reach the Venue
The Lithuanian Energy Institute is located in Kaunas, Lithuania. The venue can be reached from Kaunas Railway Station, Kaunas Bus Station, Kaunas International Airport, and the city centre by public transport, taxi, or car from different parts of Kaunas.
By public transport: After arriving at Kaunas International Airport, exit the terminal and take bus No. 29G from the airport bus stop. Get off at the Kalniečių poliklinika stop and walk to the nearby Pakraščio g. stop. From there, take trolleybus No. 14 and get off at the Slėnio g. stop. After leaving the trolleybus, turn left and walk towards the crossroads with traffic lights. Cross Baršausko g. at the nearest pedestrian crossing, turn right, then cross Breslaujos g. and turn left. Continue walking along Breslaujos g. for approximately 100 metres. The Lithuanian Energy Institute will be on your right. Alternative option: If you stay on bus No. 29G, you can continue to Kaunas Railway Station, which is the final stop of the route. From there, follow the directions provided in the “From Kaunas Railway Station” section above. By taxi: Taxi services are available through Bolt and Uber mobile apps. By public transport: After arriving at Kaunas Railway Station, exit the station and walk to the public transport stop located on the right side of the station building. Take one of the following routes: Trolleybuses: No. 5, 7, 13, or 16 Buses: No. 34 or 42 Get off at: Slėnio g. (trolleybuses) Breslaujos g. (buses) Get off the trolleybus at the stop called Slėnio g. or the bus at the stop called Breslaujos g. From the Slėnio g. trolleybus stop: After getting off the trolleybus, walk back towards the pedestrian crossing and cross the street. Turn left and continue along Breslaujos g. for approximately 100 metres. The Lithuanian Energy Institute will be on your right. From the Breslaujos g. bus stop: Walk straight along Breslaujos g. for approximately 100 metres. The Lithuanian Energy Institute will be on your right. By public transport: Walk to a nearby public transport stop (Kauno pilis A, Vilniaus g. C, Ožeškienės g., Studentų skveras, Griunvaldo g. B). Cross street called Breslaujos g., turn left and walk along this street about 100 meters. The building of Lithuanian energy institute will appear on the right side. Breslaujos g. Walk straight along Breslaujos g. for approximately 100 metres. The Lithuanian Energy Institute will be on your right. By public bus or trolleybus. Public transport in Kaunas provides a convenient connection between the Old Town and the Lithuanian Energy Institute. Walk to stop Slėnio g. (opposite site than you arrived), which is closest to the Lithuanian Energy Institute. Take a bus or trolleybus, direct ones are: bus no. 39, no. 57; trolleybus no. 5, no. 7 The journey by public transport typically takes 20–30 minutes, depending on the route and waiting time. A single ticket costs approximately 1 EUR when purchased through the Žiogas e-ticket system or mobile app; tickets purchased from the driver may cost slightly more.
